Fujisawa, Iwate was a town located in Higashiiwai District, Iwate, Japan. As of 2003, the town had an estimated population of 10,057 and a density of 81.64 persons per km². The total area was 123.15 km². On September 26, 2011, Fujisawa merged with the city of Ichinoseki. Higashiiwai District dissolved.

Motoyoshi District, Miyagi

Motoyoshi District, Miyagi is a district located in Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. As of the Karakuwa merger but with 2010 population estimates, the district has an estimated population of 17,296 and a population density of 106 persons per km². The total area is 163.74 km². Motoyoshi District was devastated by the magnitude 9.0 March 11, 2011 earthquake and tsunami which occurred off the coast of Japan; an estimated 9,500 people are reported missing from the town of Minamisanriku alone.

Toyoma Education Museum

Toyoma Education Museum exhibits the history of education in Japan since the Meiji period. It is housed in an old elementary school building of 1888 in Tome, Miyagi Prefecture. The U-shaped two-storey building around a courtyard, lined with balconies and with half-hexagons at the end of each wing, was designed by Kisaburo Yamazoe. It is representative of the western-inspired architecture of the Meiji period and in 1981 was designated an Important Cultural Property.

Minamisanriku, Miyagi

Minamisanriku, Miyagi is a town in Motoyoshi District, Miyagi, Japan. It is a resort town on a coastline of wooded islands and mountainous inlets. It has an area of 163.74 square kilometres, and as of October 1, 2004 the population of the area was 19,170. The town was formed through a merger on October 1, 2005, when the towns of Shizugawa and Utatsu, both from Motoyoshi District, merged to form the new town of Minamisanriku.

Shizugawa Station

Shizugawa Station is located on the JR Kesennuma Line in Minamisanriku, Miyagi. It was destroyed by the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami.
