Punon is an ancient city in the Arava, Jordan. It was a center of Copper and Iron mines in biblical times. Today it is called Feinan or Faynan. Punon was one of the places (or "stations") visited by the Israelites during the Exodus. "They traveled from Tzalmonah, and encamped in Punon."

It is the nearest town to the archaeological site of Petra and hosts many hotels and restaurants for tourists visiting this place. It hosts Dana nature reserve, one of Jordan's premier nature reserves with eco-tourism facilities.
