Boom Gorge

Boom Gorge ('shoestring gorge', Kyrgyz: Боом капчыгайы, Russian: Боомское ущелье) is an antecedent gorge in Chuy Province and Issyk-Kul Province of Kyrgyzstan. From the Russian spelling, the English pronunciation would be 'boh-ohm'. The gorge cuts, in a general north-south direction, across one of Tian Shan's mountain range systems. The range east of the gorge is known as Kyungey Ala-Too (Russian: Кюнгей Ала-Тоо, based on similar Kyrgyz spelling), the one to the west is the Kyrgyz Range.

Kemin District

Kemin is the northeast panhandle raion (district) of Chuy Province in northern Kyrgyzstan. The capital lies at Kemin. The district is located in Chong-Kemin Valley, Kichi-Kemin Valley, and eastern part of Chuy Valley. It borders with Kazakhstan in the north, Chuy District - in the west, Naryn Province - in the south, and Issyk-Kul Province - in the south-east. The area of the Kemin District amounts to 3533 km, which is the largest among the districts of Chuy Province.
