Cape Kolka

Cape Kolka - cape on the Baltic Sea, near the entry to Gulf of Riga, in Livonian coast, in the Courland historical region of Latvia. The cape is surrounded by the Irbe Strait (Irbes šaurums) which serves as the natural border with Estonia. Cape Kolka represents the north-western limit of the Gulf of Riga. East of the cape is the island of Ruhnu (Estonia) that lies in the middle of the Gulf. Near the cape is Kolka lighthouse and the village of Kolka.

Vaide

Vaide is a populated place in Kolka parish, Dundaga municipality, Latvia. One of the twelve Livonian villages on Līvõd rānda - the Livonian Coast. Other names: Vayde,Vaides Ciems. Poulin Klavin one of only a handful of native speakers of Livonian language was born in Vaide. Poulin would help establish the Livonian folk ensemble "Livlist". One of the first dachas on Livonian coast was established here in the 1960s, thus later providing inspiration for popular clothing brand "VAIDE".

Saunags

Saunags is a populated place in Kolka parish, Dundaga municipality, Latvia, located 10 km from the Cape Kolka, within the borders of Slītere National Park. Name derived from Livonian Sǟnag, meaning pike-perch, a local fish. It is possibly the oldest of the twelve Livonian villages on the Līvõd rānda - the Livonian Coast. It consists of two parts - Saunags and Dižsaunags (from Latvian - Great Saunags). Located along the coast of the Baltic Sea and formerly inhabited by Livonian people or Livs.
