Jadu, Libya

Jadu, in other languages also: Giado (Italian) and Gado, is a mountain town in western Libya, in the Jabal al Gharbi District and the Nafusa Mountains. Jadu was the site of an Italian concentration camp during the Second World War. In 1942, some 2,000 Jews and other undesirables were rounded up throughout Libya and sent to the Jadu camp.

1920 Jabal al-Gharbi civil war

The 1920 Jabal al-Gharbi civil war was a conflict which occurred in the Nafusa Mountains and surrounding areas, in what is today the country of Libya, fought between local tribal leaders competing for political offices in the Tripolitanian Republic.
