I shot this video on 1st May 2011 around 6:20am. As volunteer youth were unloading food & medicine from the aid ship, suddenly 30-40 GRAD missiles hit the port & some landed not so far from my friend ..

Battle of Misrata

The Battle of Misrata, also known as the Siege of Misrata, was a battle of the 2011 Libyan civil war. It was fought between troops loyal to the government of Muammar Gaddafi, and anti-Gaddafi rebels who held Misrata, the third largest city in Libya. Following the initial stages of the uprising, the Libyan government took back most towns in the west of the country, leaving Misrata the only major city under rebel control in Tripolitania.

9th July Stadium

The 9th July Stadium is a football stadium in Misrata, North West Libya. It was the previous home of the Libyan national team and hosted some of the country's 2006 World cup qualifiers, most notably against Cameroon, where they restricted the Indomitable Lions to a 0-0 draw. The stadium is the home of Asswehly, but also hosts matches that involve Misrata's other clubs, such as Alhiyad and Aschmooe. The stadium has a capacity of 10,000.

Qasr Ahmad

Qasr Ahmad or Gasr Ahmed is a neighborhood and port in the eastern region of the city of Misrata in Libya. The neighborhood was developed to provide housing for port workers. It is approximately 15 kilometers away from Misrata's city center, and about 250 kilometres away from Tripoli, capital of Libya.

Libyan Iron and Steel Company

The Libyan Iron and Steel Company (Lisco) is one of the largest iron and steelmaking companies operating in North Africa. Based in Misrata, it is subsidized and owned by the Libyan government. Muammar Gaddafi officially laid Lisco's foundation stone on 18 September 1979. In 2004, the online magazine Arab Steel ranked Lisco third among the largest Arab iron and steel companies.
