Sungai Siput

Sungai Siput is a town and also a parliamentary constituency in Kuala Kangsar district, Perak, Malaysia. Since the recent Malaysian general election of 8 March 2008, this parliamentary constituency is represented by Dr Jeyakumar Devaraj, from Pakatan Rakyat Party, in the Dewan Rakyat, the lower house of Malaysian Parliament. Dr Michael Jeyakumar Devaraj defeated the previous incumbent, Dato Seri Samy Vellu, who had held the seat since 1974.

Malay College Kuala Kangsar

The Malay College Kuala Kangsar (Malay: Kolej Melayu Kuala Kangsar, abbreviated as Malay College, MCKK,MC or Kolet, Koleq and sometimes dubbed "the Eton of the East") is a premier residential school in Malaysia. It is an all-boys and all-Malay school in the royal town of Kuala Kangsar, Perak. The school is one of the only two boarding school in Malaysia (the other is SAS) that are under the royal patronage. Its royal patronage is the Conference of Rulers.

2010 Cameron Highlands bus crash

The 2010 Cameron Highlands bus crash was the worst road accident in Malaysian history. Twenty-seven passengers of the double-decked coach bus, mostly Thai tourist were killed in the accident which took place near Cameron Highlands of the Perak-Pahang border. It occurred on December 20, 2010 at 11:40 am, when the bus driver, Omar Shahidan, lost control of the bus as it was going down an incline and it crashed into a rocky slope at the 15th kilometre of the Second East-West Highway.
