Kepala Batas, Penang

Kepala redirects here. Kepala is also a Malay translation of the word "head". Kepala Batas is a town in the northern part of Penang, Malaysia, in Seberang Perai Utara district. The member of parliament for Kepala Batas is the former prime minister of Malaysia, Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, as this is his hometown. Around the 1960s, Kepala Batas became more densely populated around Bertam, Pinang Tunggal and the surrounding area. Kepala Batas is surrounded by paddy fields.
