Bugeac is a commune and village in the Gagauz Autonomous Territorial Unit of the Republic of Moldova. The 2004 census listed the commune as having a population of 1,525 people. 942 inhabitants are Gagauz. Minorities included 115 Russians, 85 Ukrainians, 56 Bulgarians, 4 Roma and 305 Moldovans. Comrat State University
The Comrat State University in Moldavia is the successor of Gagauz National University, which has been founded by the decision of the Russian National Education Foundation and the Executive Committee of Comrat Regional Council of Deputies from February 11, 1991. By its Resolution the Government of Republic of Moldova gave it the status of State University in 2002.
