Sivalik Hills

The Sivalik hills is a mountain range of the outer Himalayas also known as Manak Parbat in ancient times. Shivalik literally means 'tresses of Shiva’. This range is about 2,400 km long enclosing an area that starts almost from the Indus and ends close to the Brahmaputra, with a gap of about 90 kilometres between the Teesta and Raidak rivers in Assam. The width of the Shivalik hills varies from 10 to 50 km (to mi), their average elevation is 1,500 to 2,000 m (to ft).

Tribhuvannagar

Ghorahi,, formerly Tribhuwannagar [त्रिभुवननगर त्रिभुवननगर] is a municipality and largest city of Dang Valley, Dang Deukhuri District of Rapti Zone, southwest Nepal. It is the second-largest city of mid and far western region of Nepal. It is the oldest municipality of Rapti zone. The name of Tribhuwannagar was related to the name of late king Tribhuwan of Nepal. After becoming a republic in 2008, the city name was changed to Ghorahi.
