Rukum District

Rukum District(Nepali: रुकुम जिल्ला, is a "hill" and "mountain" district some 280 km west of Kathmandu in Rapti Zone of Nepal's Mid-Western Region. Rukum covers an area of 2,877 km² with population of 188,438 in 2001 and 208,567 in 2011. Musikot is the district's administrative center. Rukum district has many potential tourist attractions that remain unexplored. There is 5,849 meter Mt. Sisne, also called virgin mountain. Nobody claims to have conquered this mountain yet.

Rukumkot

Rukumkot (Nepali: रुकुमकोट) is a beautiful town located in a valley in Rukum district, Nepal approximately 350 kilometres west of Kathmandu. Nearby is a pond called Rukmini Tal (Local name Kamal Dhaha with historic Sibalaya temple nearby built by Purna Kumari, wife of a Rana Prime Minister, and attractive Barah Temple. Bhagwati Temple is also in Rukumkot as well as Deurali Cave. The present Image of Rukum; "Baunna Pokhari Tripanna Takuri" is derived from the name of Rukumkot.

Rolpa District

Rolpa(Nepali: रोल्पा जिल्ला, is a "hill" district some 280 km west of Kathmandu in Rapti Zone of Nepal's Mid-Western Region. Rolpa covers an area of 1,879 km² with population of 210,004. Livang is the district's administrative center. By Nepalese standards, Rolpa is an underdeveloped area plagued by low life expectancy and poverty . It was a major flashpoint in the 1996-2006 Civil War. Adjoining districts are Dang to the south, Pyuthan to the east, Salyan to the west and Rukum to the north.
