New Caledonia

New Caledonia is a special collectivity of France located in the southwest Pacific Ocean, 1,210 kilometres east of Australia and 16,136 kilometres east of Metropolitan France. The archipelago, part of the Melanesia subregion, includes the main island of Grande Terre, the Loyalty Islands, the Belep archipelago, the Isle of Pines and a few remote islets. Poya River

The Poya River is a river of western-central New Caledonia. Its source lies near Mount Aopinie. The town of Poya lies on the river bank not far from the sea. The river mouth at Poya Bay is characterised by large mangroves.
