Tokomaru River

The Tokomaru River is a river of the Manawatu-Wanganui Region of New Zealand's North Island. It rises to the southeast of Shannon and initially flows northeast down a long valley in the Tararua Range before turning northwestto reach the edge of the Manawatu Plain near the town of Tokomaru. From here it turns southwest, reaching the Manawatu River three kilometres north of Shannon.

Horowhenua District

Horowhenua is a district on the west coast of the North Island of New Zealand. It forms part of the Manawatu-Wanganui Region. Its name rougly means shaking or rippling earth. Located north of Wellington and Kapiti, the district stretches from slightly north of the town of Otaki in the south to just south of Himatangi in the north, and from the coast to the summit of the Tararua Ranges.
