Lake Christabel

Lake Christabel is a small lake in the north of New Zealand's South Island. It is located 12 kilometres southwest of the Lewis Pass. The lake is the source of the Grey River, one of the longest rivers on the South Island's West Coast, although its outlet is underground. The lake lies behind a landslide dam, thought to have been created by a prehistoric earthquake.

Alfred River

Lake Daniell

Lake Daniell is a lake in the Tasman District of the South Island of New Zealand. It is drained by Frazer Stream which in turn feeds into the Alfred River and is surrounded by old growth beech forest. A tramping track leads to the lake and an adjacent hut, the Manson-Nicholls Memorial Hut. In 2002 there was a search in the area for a missing tramper who was part of a group staying at the lake. The tramper, a 14 year old male, was found dead next to the Alfred River.

Lewis River (New Zealand)

The Lewis River is the name of two separate rivers in the South Island of New Zealand. The valley of the better known of these forms the southeastern approach to the Lewis Pass. It is a tributary of the Boyle River.

St James Station, New Zealand

St James Station is a former high country sheep and cattle station in the South Island of New Zealand. It was renowned for its horse sales and covered an area of 78,196 hectares . The station was purchased for $40 million by the government in 2008 using funds from the Nature Heritage Fund, as well as from Land Information New Zealand. It had been owned by the Stevenson family since 1927.
