Hvalstad

Hvalstad is a village and a small part of the Municipality Asker. Hvalstad has slightly more than 2000 inhabitants, a number that has doubled since the seventies. Hvalstad is located 20 kilometres from the centre of Oslo. Hvalstad Station is on Drammensbanen (the Oslo-Drammen Railway line) opened on October 7, 1872.

Skaugum

Skaugum is the official residence of Crown Prince Haakon of Norway and of his wife Crown Princess Mette-Marit. The estate is located in Asker municipality, about 15 miles southwest of Oslo. Owned by the Church in the Middle Ages, it passed through several owners until 1909, when Fritz Wedel Jarlsberg bought it. When Crown Prince Olav and Crown Princess Märtha were married in 1929, Wedel Jarlsberg sold it to the couple. The original residence burned to the ground in 1930.

Asker Line

The Asker Line is a 9.5-kilometre railway line between Asker and Lysaker in Norway. The line runs along the same corridor as the Drammen Line, offering increased capacity, speed and regularity on the rail network west of Oslo. The first part opened in 2005, and in 2011 an extension opened from Sandvika to Lysaker. An extension to Skøyen in Oslo will perhaps be built after 2020. Most of the railway is in tunnel and is dimensioned for 160 km/h running.

Billingstad Station

Billingstad Station is a railway station located at Billingstad in Asker, Norway on the Drammen Line. The station is served by the Oslo Commuter Rail line 400 operated by Norwegian State Railways with two hourly services. The station was opened in 1919.

Asker Station

Asker is a railway station located in downtown Asker in Akershus, Norway. The station serves as the main public transportation hub for the municipalities located around the Asker Line, the Drammen Line and the Spikkestad Line. The station was opened with the Drammen Line in 1872. In 2005, the Asker Line opened, allowing though trains to bypass local trains and head directly to the next major station, Sandvika.
