Battle of Stiklestad

The Battle of Stiklestad in 1030 is one of the most famous battles in the history of Norway. In this battle, King Olaf II of Norway was killed. He was later canonized. His younger half-brother, Harald Sigurdsson, was also present at the battle and would in 1047 go on to become King of Norway, only to die in a failed invasion of England in the Battle of Stamford Bridge in 1066. Harald was only fifteen when the battle of Stiklestad took place.

Stiklestad Church

Stiklestad Church is a parish church in the municipality of Verdal in Nord-Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the village of Stiklestad. The church is part of the Stiklestad parish in the Sør-Innherad deanery in the Diocese of Nidaros. The stone church building was completed in 1180. It was designed by Archbishop Øystein Erlendsson and it seats about 520 people.

Verdalsøra Chapel is a chapel in the municipality of Verdal in Nord-Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the town of Verdalsøra. The church is part of the Stiklestad parish in the Sør-Innherad deanery in the Diocese of Nidaros. The white chapel was built in 1969 with wood and stone. It was designed by the architect Torgeir Suul, and it seats about 200 people.
