Bolga

Bolga is a populated island, just off of the Helgeland coast, in the municipality of Meløy in Nordland county, Norway. The 2.4-square-kilometre island has a population (2005) of 141. It is located west of the islands of Meløya and Åmnøya. The highest point on the island is the 339-metre tall Bolgtinden. Most of the population of the island lives along the eastern shore.

Åmnøya

Åmnøya is an island in the municipality of Meløy in Nordland county, Norway. The island lies west of the mainland, east of Bolga, and south of Meløya. The island is connected to the mainland by a series of small bridges over several small islands between Åmnøya and the village of Engavågen on the mainland. The island is very mountainous, the highest of which is the 648-metre Risnestinden.

HMS Syrtis (P241)

HMS Syrtis was an S class submarine of the Royal Navy, and part of the Third Group built of that class. She was built by Cammell Laird and launched on March 23, 1943. So far she has been the only ship to bear the name Syrtis, the Latin name for the Gulf of Gabes in the Mediterranean Sea. She served in home waters, and left Lerwick on March 16, 1944 to patrol off the Norwegian coast. On March 20 she was ordered to an area near Bodø. Two days later she sank the steamer Narvik with gunfire.

Meløy Church

Meløy Church is a parish church in the municipality of Meløy in Nordland county, Norway. It is located in the village of Meløy on the island of Meløya. The church is part of the Fore og Meløy parish in the Bodø deanery in the Diocese of Sør-Hålogaland. The white, wooden church was built in 1867 and it was consecrated on 23 July 1867. The church seats about 600 people, making it the second largest wooden church in all of Northern Norway (after Vågan Church, the so-called Lofoten Cathedral).

Tjongsfjorden

Tjongsfjorden is a fjord in the municipality of Rødøy in Nordland county, Norway. The 17-kilometre long fjord begins just west of the Svartisen glacier and flows west and flows into the Rødøyfjorden, just east of the island of Rødøya. The mountain Blokktinden lies on the southern shore of the fjord. The villages of Tjong and Vågaholmen lie along the northern shore of the fjord. Norwegian County Road 17 runs along the inner part of the fjord.
