The church is part of the Sortland parish in the Vesterålen deanery in the Diocese of Sør-Hålogaland. The white wooden church was built in 1933 and designed by Harald Sund. Kvalsaukan Bridge is a bridge that crosses the Hognfjorden in the municipality of Sortland in Nordland county, Norway. It is part of the road between Sortland and Andøy. The bridge is 425 metres long and the maximum clearance to the sea is 8 metres . Kvalsaukan Bridge was opened in 1975.
