Stiftsgården is the royal residence in Trondheim, Norway. It is centrally situated on the city’s most important thoroughfare, Munkegaten. At 140 rooms constituting 4000 m² (43000 ft²), it is possibly the largest wooden building in Northern Europe, and it has been used by royals and their guests since 1800.

Trøndelag is a geographical region in the central part of Norway, consisting of the two counties Nord-Trøndelag and Sør-Trøndelag. (The districts of Nordmøre and Romsdal, and the municipality of Bindal, originally also were parts of Trøndelag - and the inhabitants there still speak dialects similar to Trøndersk. ) The region is, together with Møre og Romsdal, part of a larger administrative division called Central Norway. A person from Trøndelag is called a Trønder.

Trondheim katedralskole (The Trondheim Cathedral School) is an upper secondary school located next to the Nidaros Cathedral in the center of Trondheim, Norway. The school's motto is the Latin phrase Per ardua ad astra ("Through Struggle to the Stars").

Student Society in Trondheim

The Student Society in Trondheim (Norwegian: Studentersamfundet i Trondhjem, Samfundet for short) is Norway's largest student society. Besides housing two cafés and frequently hosting concerts and other activities (among them Norway's biggest culture festival, UKA), it is an independent organization for all students and teachers in Trondheim, owned fully by its members. (At the end of 2011, there are about 9000 members. ) Many famous artists have held concerts here.
