Svinevoll

Svinevoll is a small village in the local area of Våle in Vestfold, Norway. Historically, Svinevoll was a transportation hub for materials like timber and farm goods such as milk and corn, thanks to the railroad that linked Svinevoll to other larger cities. Timber production continues to play a part in the Svinevoll economy.

Våle

Våle is a village in Re municipality, and former municipality, in Vestfold county, Norway. Våle is a rural, agricultural area, with Kirkevoll/Brekkeåsen, Rånerudåsen, Svinevoll, Sørby and Gretteåsen as more dense housing areas. The administrative centre was Sørby. The parish of Vaale was established as a municipality January 1, 1838. According to the 1835 census the municipality had a population of 2,408.

Hanekleiv Tunnel

The Hanekleiv tunnel is a road tunnel in Vestfold, Norway, one of seven along the European route E18 between Sande and Holmestrand. The tunnel became the centre of controversy on 25 December 2006 when part of the roof collapsed, and investigations revealed that several tunnels on the E18 through Vestfold were insufficiently secured. The tunnel was fully reopened on August 30, 2007.
