Caballococha

Caballococha (Cabalo Cocha) is a town in the Loreto Region in northeastern Peru, located on the Amazon river and right across the river from Colombia. It is the capital of both Mariscal Ramón Castilla Province and Ramón Castilla District. As of 1993, it had a population of 4,028 (1993). The name of the town is a combination of Spanish and Quechua, meaning "Horse Lake", a nearby body of water. It is a poor town and people live by farming, trading, and fishing.

Mariscal Ramón Castilla Province

The Mariscal Ramón Castilla Province is one of the seven provinces in the Loreto Region of Peru. It was created by Law No. 22728 on October 18, 1979 by President Francisco Morales Bermúdez. Its territory is mostly flat and covered by the Amazon Rainforest.

Caballococha Airport

The Caballococha Airport is a small regional airport serving Caballococha, in the eastern Loreto Region, of Peru. The airport is situated in the jungle and is near the Tres Fronteras which is a tri-border between Peru, Brazil, and Colombia. It receives charter flights from all over Peru and as well as to Colombia and Brazil.

Puerto Nariño

Puerto Nariño is the second municipality of the Amazonas department of Colombia, located on the shore of the Amazon River. It has about 6,000 residents, most of them are indigenous and its specificity is that it is entirely pedestrian, no car or motorcycle being allowed, as an experiment in an ecological community. The traffic with the smaller communities along the river, and with Leticia, the only other Colombian municipality in the region, takes place by motorboats.
