Marihatag (formerly known as Maria Ihatag)is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Surigao del Sur, Philippines. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 16,394 people in 2,857 households. The current mayor of the municipality is Hon. Leo C. Navarro, younger brother of Librado C. Navarro, current mayor of Bislig City. The municipality hosts the "Balik-Marihatag" Festival which literally means going back home to Marihatag.

Cagwait is a 4th class municipality in the province of Surigao del Sur, Philippines. According to the 2007 census, it has a population of 19,899 people in 3,426 households. Cagwait is about 32 kilometers Southeast of Tandag, the capital town of Surigao del Sur. It is bounded by the towns of Bayabas on the North, Marihatag on the South, the Diwata mountains on the West and the Pacific Ocean in the East. It has a total land area of 21,410 hectares (214.10 sq. kilometers).

Bayabas is a 5th class municipality in the province of Surigao del Sur, Philippines. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 7,706 people in 1,290 households. Bayabas is located between Tago and Cagwait. The Tago River separates the municipalities of Tago and Bayabas. Bayabas is consist of seven barangays mostly located in the coastlines. Though Bayabas is a small municipality, it is also abundant in natural resources especially seafoods.
