Libagon, Southern Leyte

Libagon is the home of Southern Leyte's frontier mountain to the world, the Mt. Patag Daku. Libagon is known for its Spanish-style municipal building. It is said to be Eastern Visayas' most Hispanic town. There are some spots that the Libagonians can be proud of, like the Biasong Springs, Pangi Black Sand Beach, Endriga Beach Resort, Uwan-Uwanan Waterfalls, Ruins of the Old Pantalan (seaport) and the old building of the Libagon Academy Foundation, Inc.

Liloan, Southern Leyte

Liloan is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Southern Leyte, Philippines. Liloan is located at the northern part of Panaon Island which is connected to the main island of Leyte by a bridge (wawa bridge). Across from Liloan is the province of Southern Leyte. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 27,000 people in 14,135 households. "Liloan" is derived from the local term for whirlpool, which is "lilo".

Padre Burgos, Southern Leyte

Padre Burgos is a 5th class municipality in the province of Southern Leyte, Philippines. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 8,926 people in 1,672 households. Padre Burgos is named after the priest Padre Jose Burgos of the GOMBURZA priest martyrs. The town being surrounded by Sogod Bay in the East, Padre Burgos was once called "Tamulayag", a vernacular slang which means "Let's go fishing". Thus, the town's main livelihood is fishing.
