Isabel is the most industrialized town in Eastern Visayas, being the site of Leyte Industrial Development Estate (LIDE). USS Mahan (DD-364)

The second USS Mahan (DD-364) was the lead ship of the Mahan class destroyers of the United States Navy. She was named for Rear Admiral Alfred Thayer Mahan, a leading 19th century naval historian and strategic theorist. The builder of Mahan was United Dry Docks, Inc. , successor to Morse Dry Dock and Repair Company, Staten Island, New York. Her keel was laid down on 12 June 1934; launched on 15 October 1935, and sponsored by Miss Kathleen H. Mahan, the admiral's great-granddaughter.

Japanese destroyer Uzuki (1925)
