Kutno

Kutno is located in central Poland with 48,000 inhabitants (2005) and an area of 33.6 km . Situated in the Łódź Voivodeship (since 1999), previously part of Płock Voivodeship (1975–1998), it is the capital of Kutno County. Kutno was historically the center of a large Jewish community. In 1900, 10,356 Jews lived there. It was the birthplace of famed Polish writer Sholem Ash.
