Suchanino, formerly a village, became in 1902 (as Zigankenberg) a district of the city of Danzig. With 12,937 inhabitants in an area of 1.3 km² it has a population density of 9,812 inhabitants/km². Most buildings are high-rise and were constructed in the 1970s.

Ostrów Island

Note that the word Ostrów or Ostrov is a generic Slavic name for an island Ostrów Island is an island on the Baltic Sea, located in the delta of Vistula river. The island composes a portion of the territory of the city of Gdańsk, Poland. More specifically, it is part of the quarter known as Mlyniska. The northern border of the island is formed by the waters of Port Channel (Gdańsk), while the southern border is a branch of the Vistula river, called Leniwka.

Gdańsk Stocznia railway station

Gdańsk Stocznia is an SKM stop in Gdańsk, Poland. It is the second stop of this urban train line on the way to Wejherowo. This stop is not merged with any railway station. It has two platforms, out of which only one is still operating, as the second one (with one track adjacent) was operating the line to Nowy Port which is now closed. The ticket office used to be located on this platform, but the building has been pulled down for at least 4 years.

Monument to the Fallen Shipyard Workers of 1970

The Monument to the fallen Shipyard Workers 1970 (Polish: Pomnik Poległych Stoczniowców 1970) was unveiled on 16 December 1980 near the entrance to what was then the Lenin Shipyard in Gdańsk, Poland. It commemorates the 42 or more people killed during the Coastal cities events in December 1970. It was created in the aftermath of the Gdańsk Agreement and is the first monument to the victims of communist oppression to be erected in a communist country.

Gdańsk Shipyard

Gdańsk Shipyard (Stocznia Gdańskа) is a large Polish shipyard, located in the city of Gdańsk. The yard gained international fame when Solidarity (Solidarność) was founded there in September 1980. It is situated on the left side of Martwa Wisła and on Ostrów Island.
