With a population density of 20,320.7 per square mile (7,845.87/km2), Hato Rey Central is the most densely populated barrio in the municipality of San Juan, Puerto Rico. It has a land area of 1.03 sq mi (2.67 km2) and a 2000 Census population of 20,867. Hato Rey Central was part of the former municipality of Rio Piedras, before it was merged with San Juan in 1951.

Oriente, San Juan, Puerto Rico

Oriente is a barrio of San Juan, Puerto Rico, and before 1951 it was part of the former municipality of Rio Piedras. According to Census 2000, it had a population of 34,799, a land area of 1.74 (4.51 km²), and it was the second most densely populated barrio of San Juan with 19,979.1 inhabitants per square miles (7,713.97 km²), closely behind Hato Rey Central barrio.
