Río Piedras Pueblo, (officially just "Pueblo"), is a one of eighteen barrios in the municipality of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Rio Piedras Pueblo is what used to be the urban center barrio of the former municipality of Río Piedras until 1951, when the municipality of Rio Piedras was absorbed by the municipality of San Juan. Humberto Vidal Explosion
The Humberto Vidal Explosion (sometimes also referred to as the Río Piedras Explosion) was a gas explosion that occurred on November 21, 1996 at the Humberto Vidal shoe store located in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico. The explosion killed 33 and wounded more than 80 others when the building collapsed. It is considered one of the deadliest disasters to have occurred on the island.

The San Juan Botanical Garden, also known as the Botanical Garden of the University of Puerto Rico, is located in the Caribbean city of San Juan, capital of Puerto Rico.
