Bareq (also transliterated as Bāriq), Arabic: بارق&#8206) is one of the governorates of Asir that is located in the north-west of the region, located 120 km in the north of Abha,Occupying a distinct location at the road junction at the middle between Tihama and Asir at a height of 449 m above sea level. It has an estimated population of 60,000. It is one of Asir winter's resorts because of its natural beauty and mild weather in winter.
