Medina Azahara

Medina Azahara is the ruins of a vast, fortified Arab Muslim medieval palace-city built by Abd-ar-Rahman III al-Nasir, (912–961) Ummayad Caliph of Córdoba, and located on the western outskirts of Córdoba, Spain. It was an Arab Muslim medieval town and the de facto capital of al-Andalus, or Muslim Spain, as the heart of the administration and government was within its walls.

Taifa of Córdoba

The Taifa of Córdoba was a republican taifa that replaced the teetering Umayyad Caliph as the government of Córdoba and its vicinity in 1031. After the fall of the Umayyad Caliphate in 1031, Al-Andalus had begun to fracture into small, independent Taifa emirates. After the abdication of the last Caliph and his flight from Córdoba, the city was left leaderless. The leading citizens decided to grant power to the most prominent Córdoban sheikh, Abū 'l Ḥazm Jahwar bin Muḥammad.

Estadio Nuevo Arcángel

Estadio Nuevo Arcángel is a multi-use stadium in Córdoba, Spain. It is currently used primarily for football matches and is the home ground of Córdoba CF. Originally the stadium had 15,425 seats. Since 2004 the stadium is going through a remodelling converting it to a pure football stadium. Three of the four sides have currently been rebuilt. When the fourth stand is rebuilt the capacity will be 25,100 seats.

Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos

The Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos (Spanish for "Alcázar of the Christian Monarchs"), also known as the Alcázar of Córdoba, is a medieval Alcázar located in Córdoba, Spain next to the Guadalquivir River and near the Grand Mosque. The Alcázar takes its name from the Arabic word القصر (Al-Qasr, meaning "the Palace"). The fortress served as one of their primary residences of Isabella I of Castile and Ferdinand II of Aragon.
