For the oceanographic and freight ship, see Italica (ship) The city of Italica was founded in 206 BC by the Roman general Publius Cornelius Scipio Africanus in order to settle Roman soldiers wounded in the Battle of Ilipa, where the Carthaginian army was defeated during the Second Punic War. The name Italica bound the colonia to their Italian origins.

Castilleja de la Cuesta

Castilleja de la Cuesta is a town and municipality in the province of Seville, in the autonomous community of Andalusia, Spain. Hernán Cortés died in this town on December 2, 1547. He is not buried there however, because his remains were returned to Mexico as directed in his will. They currently rest in the "Templo de Jesús" which is part of the Hospital de Jesús Nazareno in Mexico City. It was the birthplace of actor and dancer Eduardo Cansino, Sr.
