Nou Mestalla

Nou Mestalla is a partly built 75,100-seat football stadium in Valencia, Spain, intended as a replacement for Valencia CF's current stadium, Estadio Mestalla. The basic concrete structure of the stadium was built between August 2007 and February 2009, but work was then halted for financial reasons. On 12 December 2011, the club confirmed that it had negotiated a deal with Bankia to complete the stadium and transfer the old Mestalla property to the bank.

Valencia Metro derailment

The Valencia Metro derailment occurred in Valencia, Spain's third largest city, on July 3, 2006, at 1 p.m. CEST between Jesús and Plaça d'Espanya stations on the Line 1 of the Metrovalencia mass transit system. At least 43 people were killed and more than ten were seriously injured. El País reports that Valencian forensic scientists have identified all but one of the victims — a woman whose family has not claimed her.

Luis Puig Palace

Luis Puig Palace (Valencian: Palau Velòdrom Lluís Puig, Spanish: Palacio Velódromo Luis Puig) is an arena in Valencia, Spain. It is primarily used for indoor sports and hosted the 2008 IAAF World Indoor Championships. The arena also hosts a 250 metres painted concrete cycling track which played host to the 1992 UCI Track Cycling World Championships. It has a capacity of 6,500 people.
