Soba (city)

Soba is the name of the capital of Alodia. E. A. Wallis Budge identified it with a group of ruins on the Blue Nile 12 miles from Khartoum, where there are remains of a Meroitic temple that had been converted into a Christian church. This would place Soba in the modern-day Sudanese state of Al Jazirah. Ibn Selim el-Aswani described the city as large and wealthy, but he probably never visited it and modern archaeological investigations show it to have been a moderate centre.

Khartoum International Community School

Khartoum International Community School (KICS) is a private English medium International School established by DAL Group in 2004. Located on a purpose-built campus in the Hai El Raqi area south of Khartoum, Sudan, KICS caters for students from age of 3 to 18 years, providing the International Baccalaureate curriculum. KICS is the first school in Sudan to gain international accreditation as an IB World School in 2006.

Khartoum North

Khartoum North (al-Kharṭūm Baḥrī ) is a city close to, but distinct from, Khartoum in central Sudan. The city is close to the confluence of the White and Blue Niles on the eastern bank of the Blue Nile. The city, which had in 1993 a rapidly growing population of 900,000, is connected by bridges to Khartoum and Omdurman. It is known also as "Bahrī", referring to the Northern coast in Egyptian Arabic. (South is Qibli .)

International University of Africa

The International University of Africa is a public University in Khartoum, Sudan. It is a member of the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World. The university has faculties of Education and Humanities, Shariah and Islamic Studies and of Pure and Applied Sciences. The university has its origins in the Islamic African Centre, established in Khartoum in 1977. In 1992 the military government of Colonel Omar al-Bashir upgraded the institute to a university.
