Sörmland Museum

The Sörmland Museum is the county museum of Södermanland County in Sweden. The institution is responsible for preservation and conducting research in the area of the cultural history and archaeology of the county, including the medieval city of Nyköping. The museum houses temporary art exhibits and a permanent exhibit about the Middle Ages, but lacks a permanent archaeological exhibit. The museum is located in the old castle, Nyköpingshus on the river in central Nyköping.

Nyköping Municipality

Nyköping Municipality (Nyköpings kommun) is a municipality in Södermanland County in southeast Sweden. Its seat is located in the city of Nyköping. The municipality was created in 1971 with the amalgamation of the City of Nyköping and a great number of other municipalities. It was split up in three parts in 1992, when Gnesta Municipality and Trosa Municipality were created.

Nyköping Castle

Nyköping Castle in Nyköping, Sweden, is a Mediaeval castle from the Birger Jarl era, partly in ruins. The castle is mostly known for the ghastly Nyköping Banquet which took place here in 1317.

Nils Oscar Brewery

Nils Oscar Brewery (The Nils Oscar Company) is a Swedish microbrewery and spirits company based in Nyköping. The brewery was founded in Stockholm 1996 as Kungsholmens Kvartersbryggeri i Kungsholmen, Stockholm but changed name to Tärnö Bryggeri rather quickly. During 2006 major relocations were conducted and the company got its current name. The beers of Nils Oscar Brewery have often received good reviews from national beer critics.
