The Al-Qubeir massacre, also known as the Hama massacre, occurred in the small village of Al-Qubeir near Hama, Syria, on 6 June 2012 during the country's ongoing civil conflict. Al-Qubeir is described as a Sunni farming settlement surrounded by Alawite villages in the central province of Hama.

Al-Qubeir

Al-Qubeir is a settlement in the Hama Governorate of Syria, near the larger village of Maarzaf. Al-Qubeir is described as a Sunni farming enclave surrounded by Alawite villages in the central province of Hama. Masyaf

Masyaf is a city in Syria, in the Hama Governorate, notable for its large medieval castle. It was used by Hashashins as their main headquarters after the destruction of their former and first headquarters, Alamut. In popular culture, Masyaf is known for its appearance in the Assassin's Creed video game series. In that series, the castle of Masyaf is the headquarters of the Assassins.
