Kela Alon

Kela Alon is an Israeli settlement, communal settlement, in the Golan Regional Council, Israel. The village was founded in 1991. The international community considers Israeli settlements in the Golan Heights illegal under international law, but the Israeli government disputes this. The first settlers there were immigrants from the Soviet Union.

Hula Valley

The Hula Valley is an agricultural region in northern Israel with abundant fresh water. It is a major stopover for birds migrating along the Syrian-African Rift Valley between Africa, Europe, and Asia. The marshland around Lake Hula, a breeding grounds for malaria, was drained in the 1950s. A small section of the valley was later reflooded in an attempt to revive a nearly extinct ecosystem. An estimated 500 million migrating birds now pass through the Hula Lake Park every year.

Near East earthquakes of 1759

The Near East earthquakes of 1759 was a series of devastating earthquakes that shook a large portion of the Levant in October and November of that year. This geographical crossroads in the Eastern Mediterranean includes portions of Syria, Lebanon, Turkey, and Israel. The ruins of Baalbek, a settlement in the Beqaa Valley of Lebanon east of the Litani River, were badly damaged.

Dubrovin Farm

Dubrovin Farm was one of the first farms in the Hulah Valley. It was established by Stanislav Dubrovin (1863–1967) who moved to Ottoman Syria with his family in 1903. Dubrovin left Astrakhan and settled in the north of the country near Yesod HaMa'ala. Dubrovin and his family were Subbotniks, Russian Christians who kept seventh-day Sabbath. After their conversion to Judaism, they took Hebrew names. Stanislav became "Yoav", and his wife became "Rachel".

Highway 91 (Israel)

Highway 91 is an east-west highway in northern Israel and the Golan Heights. It extends through the Jordan Rift Valley and the central Golan Heights. It begins in the west at Mahanayim junction with Highway 90, and it ends in the east at Zivan junction near the Israeli settlement Ein Zivan, where it meets Highway 98. The road is 28 km long.
