2013 Nantou earthquake

The 2013 Nantou earthquake was a magnitude 6.0 Mw earthquake which struck central Taiwan on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 10:03 a.m. local time. The epicenter was located in mountainous terrain in Ren'ai Township, Nantou County, Taiwan, not far from Sun Moon Lake. News reports indicate that a 72-year-old woman was killed by being crushed by a collapsing wall and 86 people were injured as a result of the earthquake. Most of the injuries were in Taichung.

Puli, Nantou

Puli is an urban township in Nantou County, Taiwan. It is the geographic center of Taiwan. In the 19th century the city was known as Posia (埔社) or Polisia (埔裏社). It is located in the mountainous center of Taiwan, and many tourist destination spots are nearby.

Formosa Aboriginal Culture Village

The Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village is an amusement park in the Nantou County of Taiwan which has been in operation since 1986. It is distinctive for its Formosan aboriginal culture theme. The park contains the tallest free-fall ride in Taiwan as well as Taiwan's largest European gardens and bell tower.
