Wete

Wete is a town located on the Tanzanian island of Pemba. It is the capital of Pemba North Region, as well as the administrative seat for Wete District. It lies on the west side of the north part of the island. The town has an 2013 estimated population of 29,606. To the southwest of Wete Harbour, about a kilometre away, is the small island of Matambwe, site of Shirazi ruins of a medieval town.

Pemba Island

Pemba Island, known as "The Green Island" in Arabic (الجزيرة الخضراء), is an island forming part of the Zanzibar Archipelago, lying off the east coast of Africa in the Indian Ocean. It is situated about 50 kilometres to the north of the Unguja (the island proper of Zanzibar). In 1964 Zanzibar was united with the former colony of Tanganyika to form Tanzania. It lies 50 kilometres east of mainland Tanzania, across the Pemba Channel.

Chake-Chake

Chake-Chake is a city located on the Tanzanian island of Pemba. It is in the centre of a deep indentation in the west coast called Chake-Chake Bay. Chake-Chake is the capital of Pemba Central region. Pemba's only airport is 7 km south-east of Chake-Chake. The Mkama Ndume ruins are close to the airport in Pujini village.
