Hiboun is a town and commune in the Mahdia Governorate, Tunisia, located in Sahel, Tunisia region south of Monastir and southeast of Sousse in tourist area and contain many hotels and clubnights and faculties. As of 2009 it had a population of 23,241.

Salakta

Salakta is a small Tunisian village situated by the sea. The name is derived from Latin Selectum, meaning the selected place. Salakta has been occupied or ruled by many civilisations, including the Phoenicians, Byzantines, Romans, and Muslim Oubéidines. The attractions include a beach, catacombs, an ancient cemetery and a museum. Though not an established name in Tunisian tourism, Salakta is nevertheless one of the oldest historical sites in the country.

Thapsus

Thapsus or Thapsos (less commonly, Tapsus) was an ancient city in what is modern day Tunisia. Its ruins exist at Ras Dimas near Bekalta, approximately 200 km southeast of Carthage. Originally founded by Phoenicians, it served as a marketplace on the coast of the province Byzacena in Africa Propria. Thapsus was established near a salt lake on a point of land eighty stadia (14.8 km) from the island of Lampedusa.

Bekalta

Bekalta, Arabic: البقالطة (al-Bikalita), is a Tunisian coastal town, around 30 km. south of Monastir and around 14 km. northeast of Mahdia. The main activities of the local population are agriculture and fishing.
