Ariassos

Ariassos (or Ariasos) was a Pisidian city built at a height of 1050 meters in the Taurus Mountains. Ariassos is 48 km from Antalya along the Antalya-Burdur highway and before arriving at the village Dag, turn left and Ariassos is 1 km. further on. Ariassos was built in a valley and could survey its surroundings. The gate, the baths, the rock tombs and the mausoleum are almost intact.

Its mayor is Mustafa Yıldız from Justice and Development Party. Bademağacı is an important archeological area. A group of archeologists from Istanbul University makes archeological exploration.

Karain Cave

Karain redirects here. Karain is also a fictional continent in Austin Tappan Wright's novel Islandia. Karain Cave is a cave and a Paleolithic archaeological site located at Yağca village 27 km northwest of Antalya city in the Mediterranean region of Turkey. Karain is a prehistoric cave, situated at a height of about 370 m from the sea and about 80 m up the slope, where the Western Taurus calcareous zone borders on the travertine plain.
