Mecidiye (former Köseatlı) is a small town in Keşan district of Edirne Province, Turkey. At {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:40|36|N|26|32|E||| | |name= }} Mecidye is close to Gulf of Saros. The distance to Keşan is 28 kilometres . The population of Mecidiye is 936 as of 2011. The settlement was founded by the Muslim refugees of the Russo-Turkish War (1877-1878) . Major economic activities of the town are fishing, beekeeping and farming. Tourism is also promising.

Gulf of Saros

Saros Bay or Gulf of Saros is an inlet of the northern Aegean Sea located north of the Gallipoli Peninsula in northwestern Turkey. The Archipelago of Saros is in the gulf. It consists the three small islands - The Big island (Büyükada or Yunus adası), The Small island (Küçükada or Defne adası) and The Little island (Minikada or Böcek adası). The bay is 75 km long and 35 km wide.

Kocahıdır

Kocahıdır is a town in İpsala district of Edirne Province, Turkey. At {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:40|49|N|26|24|E||| | |name= }} Kocahıdır is 17 kilometres south east of İpsala. The town is divided into three parts by two parallel creeks flowing to south west. The population of Kocahıdır is 1159 as of 2011. Kocahıdır was founded in 1893 by 66 Muslim families from Bulgaria. In 1938 during another migration, Muslim families from Romania were also settled in Kocahıdır.

Yenimuhacir, Keşan

Yenimuhacir is a town in Keşan district of Edirne Province, Turkey, It is situated in the eastern Trakya (Thrace) plains at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:40|51|N|26|41|E||| | |name= }}. Its distance to Keşan is 7 kilometres and to Edirne is 117 kilometres . The population of Yenimuhacir is 2045 as of 2011. The old name of this village is Bulgarköy. Cardia (Thrace)

Cardia, anciently the chief town of the Thracian Chersonese, was situated at the head of the gulf of Melas (today Saros bay). It was originally a colony of the Milesians and Clazomenians; but subsequently, in the time of Miltiades (late 6th century BC), the place also received Athenian colonists, as proved by Miltiades tyranny (515–493 BC).
