Elâzığ Province is a province of Turkey with its seat in the city of Elâzığ. The source of the Euphrates river is located in this province. The province has a population of 552,646 as of 2010. The population of the province was 569,616 in 2000 and 498,225 in 1990. The total area of the province is 9,153 square kilometres, 826 km of which is covered by reservoirs and natural lakes. The population of Yazıkonak is 8685 as of 2011. The town is a relatively new settlement. Elazığ Airport which is just at the southwest of Yazıkonak contributed to the rapid increase in population.

Akçakiraz

Akçakiraz (former Perçenç) is a town in the central district of Elazığ Province, Turkey. Situated at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:38|37|N|39|16|E||| | |name= }}, it is only 7 kilometres south of Elazığ and near the junction of two Turkish state highways D.300 and D.885 which connect Elazığ to Bingöl and Diyarbakır respectively .
