New Konya Stadium

New Konya Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Konya, Turkey. It is part of complex of sports venues that are planned on the outskirts of the city, as part of the Konya Olympic Village. It will effectively replace the ageing Konya Atatürk Stadium, which has been in use since the early 1950s. The stadium will have a capacity of nearly 42.276 people (all-seated) and will be totally covered. Mayor of Konya city, Mr. Tahir Akyürek said they will start the construction in the second half of 2012.

Sille (village)

Sille is a small Turkish village, near the town of Konya. Sille was one of the few villages where the Karamanli Turkish language (whose vocabulary drew overwhelmingly from Turkic words, but was written with the Greek alphabet) was spoken until the population swap between Greece and Turkey in 1923. In the population exchanges between Greece and Turkey (1923), Turkey and Greece decided to exchange population based on religion.

Selçuklu is a town and district of Konya Province in the Central Anatolia region of Turkey. Selçuklu is one of the central districts of Konya along with the districts of Karatay and Meram. According to 2000 census, population of the district is 348,329 of which 327,627 live in the urban center of Selçuklu.
