Sille (village)

Sille is a small Turkish village, near the town of Konya. Sille was one of the few villages where the Karamanli Turkish language (whose vocabulary drew overwhelmingly from Turkic words, but was written with the Greek alphabet) was spoken until the population swap between Greece and Turkey in 1923. In the population exchanges between Greece and Turkey (1923), Turkey and Greece decided to exchange population based on religion.

Alaeddin Mosque

Alâeddin Mosque is the principal monument on the citadel of Konya, Turkey. The building served as the “Mosque of the Throne” for the Seljuq Sultans of Rum and contains the dynastic mausoleum. It was constructed in stages between the mid-12th and mid-13th centuries. Both the citadel and the mosque bear the name of sultan 'Ala al-Din Kayqubad I (Alâeddin Tepesi and Alâeddin Camii).
