Alahan Monastery

The Alahan Monastery is a one hour walking distance from the village of Geçimli, located in the province of Mersin, Turkey. The site is being considered to be put on the World Heritage list of sites who have "outstanding universal value" to the world. In 2012, Turkey's Ministry of Culture and Mersin Governorship started restoration work on the site because of its history and heritage. On May 29, 2012 Greek Patriarch Bartholomew visited the monastery.

Derinçay (former Hocantı) is a village in Mut district of Mersin Province, Turkey. The distance to Mut is 15 kilometres and to Mersin is 180 kilometres . The population of the village was 207 as of 2011. The village is an old village founded by Turkmens.
