Themiscyra (Pontus)

Samsun-Çarşamba Airport

Samsun-Çarşamba Airport is a public airport in Samsun, Turkey. Opened in 1998, it is 23 km from Samsun. The passenger terminal of the airport covers an area of 4,725 m² and has a parking lot for 246 cars.

Suat Uğurlu Dam

The Suat Uğurlu Dam is a rock-fill dam for irrigation and hydro power purposes, located 24 km downstream of Hasan Uğurlu Dam on the River Yeşilırmak 13 km south of Çarşamba town and 25 km east of Samsun in northern Turkey. Originally, it was named the Bolahor Dam. Suat Uğurlu died following an accident at the construction site of a dam project 24 km upstream together with her husband, an engineer at that site.

Yeşilırmak River

The Yeşilırmak (Turkish: Yeşilırmak, "Green River"; classical Greek: Ίρις, Iris) is a river in northern Turkey. From its source north-east of Sivas, it flows past Tokat and Amasya, and reaches the Black Sea at Samsun after 418 km . Its tributaries include the Çekerek (ancient Scylax) and the Kelkit (ancient Lycus).
