Ondokuz Mayıs University

Ondokuz Mayıs University was founded in 1975. The central campus is situated in Samsun, a northern city of Turkey on the shore of the Black Sea. Ondokuz Mayıs University is considered one of the largest Universities in Turkey. The name of the university (Ondokuz Mayıs in Turkish means "19 May") commemorates Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's landing at Samsun on 19 May 1919, initiating the Turkish War of Independence.

Samsun 19 Mayıs Stadium

Samsun 19 Mayıs Stadium (Turkish: Samsun 19 Mayıs Stadyumu) is a multi-purpose stadium in Samsun, Turkey. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of Samsunspor, currently playing in the Süper Lig. The stadium holds 19,720 people (all-seater). The stadium was named after the date May 19, 1919 when Mustafa Kemal Atatürk set foot on land in Samsun to start the national independence movement.

Its adjacent provinces are Sinop on the northwest, Çorum on the west, Amasya on the south, Tokat on the southeast, and Ordu on the east. Its traffic code is 55.
