Başbağlar massacre

The Başbağlar massacre is the name given to the event in which militants from the PKK, killed 33 Sunni Turkish civilians and burnt down the village of Başbağlar near Erzincan on July 5, 1993. The incident took place at the village of Başbağlar, near Kemaliye in Erzincan Province, when approximately 100 heavily armed militants rampaged through the village, dragging all the civilians to the village square and burning their homes and property.

Sarıbalta

Sarıbalta (former Komer) is a village in the Çemişgezek district of Tunceli Province, Turkey. At {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:39|00|N|38|57|E||| | |name= }}, it is situated at the north of the Keban Dam resorvoir. The distance to Çemişgezek is 8 kilometres and to Tunceli is 115 kilometres . The population of Sarıbalta is 591 inhabitants as of 2011. The town was founded by people from the Şakak tribe either from Diyarbakır or from Khorasan (a province in Iran).

Payamdüzü

Payamdüzü is a village in Çemişgezek district of Tunceli Province, Turkey. At {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:38|58|N|38|59|E||| | |name= }} it is situated at the north of the Keban Dam resorvoir. Distance to Çemişgezek is 15 kilometres and to Tunceli is 110 kilometres . The population of Payamdüzü is 565 as of 2011. The original name of the village was Sinsor which was changed to Payamdüzü (literally Almond plains) in 1947, upon the suggestion of Kâzım Karabekir.
