Chynadiyovo

Chynadiyovo is an urban-type settlement in Zakarpattia Oblast, Ukraine. It stands in the Latorica River valley, 10 km from the town of Mukacheve. The population was 6,817 in 2001. The town took its Hungarian name from the church of St. Nicholas. Its history can be traced to the 13th century. King Béla IV presented the area to his son-in-law, Rostislav Mikhailovich, in 1247. It changed hands many times in the 14th century.

Saint Nicholas Monastery (Mukacheve)

The Saint Nicholas Monastery is a monastery located on Chernecha Hora (monk's hill) in Mukacheve, Ukraine. The exact date of its founding is unknown, though some believe it was founded in the late 11th century. In the 14th century the monastery was under the patronage of Fedir Koriiatovych. In 1491 it was made the residence of the bishop of Mukachiv whose jurisdiction was the whole of Transcarpathia.

Mukachevo Radar Station

Mukachevo radar station was a Soviet radar station providing early warning of ballistic missile attack. It was located in Mukachevo in the far south west of Ukraine and was part of the Soviet, and then Russian missile attack warning system. Information from this station could be used for a launch on warning nuclear missile attack or to engage the A-135 anti-ballistic missile system.

Pavshino

Pavscino (sometimes transliterated from Cyrillic as Pawschino, Pavschino, Povshin, Pavshyn, Pawsin, Pausin or Pausyn, all of which names are/were attempts to render 'Pausching' into and out of various local languages, Pausching being the name of the village since about 1750, before which it had been known as Posahaza) is the site of a "Temporary Detention Centre" for refugees in Transcarpathia, Ukraine not far from Mukachevo.
