Woolwich East (UK Parliament constituency)

Woolwich East was a parliamentary constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom from 1918 until 1983. It was based around Woolwich, now in the Royal Borough of Greenwich in south-east London. The constituency was formed for the 1918 general election, when the constituency of Woolwich was divided into Woolwich East and Woolwich West, and abolished in 1983 when it was largely replaced by a new Woolwich constituency.

Manor Ground, Plumstead

The Manor Ground in Plumstead, south east London was a football stadium which, between 1888 & 1890, and 1893 & 1913, was the home of the football club formerly known as Royal Arsenal, renamed Woolwich Arsenal in 1893, and later simply Arsenal F.C. soon after they moved across London to Arsenal Stadium, Highbury.

Lesnes Abbey

Lesnes Abbey /ˈlɛsnɨs/ is a former abbey, now ruined, in Abbey Wood, in the London Borough of Bexley. It is a scheduled ancient monument and the adjacent Lesnes Abbey Woods are a Local Nature Reserve. Part of the wood is the Abbey Wood SSSI, a geological Site of Special Scientific Interest which is an important site for early Tertiary fossils.

Plumstead Common

Plumstead Common is a common in Plumstead, (SE18) in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, south-east London. It is bound to the north by Old Mill Road and to the south by Plumstead Common Road. To the east lies Winn or Winn's Common. Substantial remains of the Old Mill still stand and have been incorporated into the public house of the same name. The common contains deposits of puddingstone, a conglomerate rock formed during a period of global warming 60 million years ago.
